United Nations (UN)
United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) sets the overall framework for intergovernmental action, and coordinates the COP climate change negotiations. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) set up to review and organise the latest scientific research and knowledge regarding climate change. The purpose of the IPCC is to provide scientific technical and socio-economic information in a policy-relevant but policy neutral way to decision makers. The United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP) is the voice for the environment within the United Nations system. Based in Nairobi, Kenya, UNEP provide leadership and encourage partnership in caring for the environment by inspiring, informing, and enabling nations and peoples to improve their quality of life without compromising that of future generations. World Meteorological Organization, WMO, is the authoritative voice on the state and behaviour of the Earth's atmosphere, its interaction with the oceans, the climate it produces and the resulting distribution of water resources. World Health Organization, WHO, is the directing and coordinating authority for health within the United Nations system. WHO has developed a special programme (Climate Change and Human Health).
The European Union
The EU (European Union) is an economical and political union of its current 27 member states. EU is a vital player in the world's efforts to make a new global treaty at the UN COP15 summit in Copenhagen in December 2009. [EU]
The European Environment Agency (EEA)
EEA is an agency of the European Union. Our task is to provide sound, independent information on the environment. We are a major information source for those involved in developing, adopting, implementing and evaluating environmental policy, and also the general public. The World Energy Council
The World Energy Council is the most representative body of the energy industry with members in more than ninety countries. Its mission is to promote the sustainable supply and use of energy for the greatest benefit of all. The London-based organization has official consultative status with the United Nations. [WEC]
Global Climate Observing System
GCOS is co-sponsored by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of UNESCO, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and International Council for Science (ICSU). The GCOS Secretariat located at the WMO headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. The GCOS programme stimulates, encourages, coordinates and otherwise facilitates the taking of the needed observations by national or international organizations in support of their own requirements as well as of common goals. The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) was officially established in Bonn on 26 January 2009. To date, 136 States signed the Statute of the Agency; amongst them are 45 African, 36 European, 32 Asian, 14 American and 9 Australia/Oceania States. [IRENA]
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)

IAEA is the world´s center of cooperation in the nuclear field. It was
set up as the world´s "Atoms for Peace" organization in 1957 within the

COP15 Copenhagen

Group of Eight (G8)
G8, and formerly the (G6) or Group of Six) is a forum for governments of eight nations of the northern hemisphere. The G8 can refer to the member states or to the annual summit meeting of the G8 heads of government.

Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC)
APEC, is the premier forum for facilitating economic growth, cooperation, trade and investment in the Asia-Pacific region. APEC is the only inter governmental grouping in the world operating on the basis of non-binding commitments, open dialogue and equal respect for the views of all participants. Unlike the WTO or other multilateral trade bodies, APEC has no treaty obligations required of its participants.
